Galaxy S5, the recently released flagship of Samsung has an IP67 rating, which means the smartphone is dust & water proof. But one thing don’t forget that the smartphone can only be submerged up to one meter deep water for maximum of 30 minutes. But some folks think that the phone is waterproof and want to use it that way, in final results they face Water Damage Issue. Samsung Galaxy S5 is water resistant, not waterproof. Step 1: Do not power on your smartphone if it falls into water. It may damage the phone.
Step 2: Open the back cover and take out the battery because if the battery is damaged, it could cause damage to other components.
Step 3: Take a bowl of rice and put either, the smartphone and battery in that bowl for couple of days. The rice will absorb the water.
Step 4: After several days, put the battery in and try to turn on the device.
Step 5: When you become successful to turn on the device, notice its behavior closely.
Step 6: If the device refuses to turn on or if you find any changes in the behavior, turn it off and get the smartphone to a technician.
