According to the newspapers, Samsung is planning to launch the new device in one of the growing markets of the world. The smartphone will be priced reportedly under $100, almost the similar price tag Android One smartphones have, that Google released a few months ago in India.
The report also expressed that the company initially prepared to launch the Tizen smartphone in Russia in the 3rd quarter of this season, but finally dropped the plan. While a majority of Samsung’s mobile devices run on Android OS, the South Korean company’s move to introduce its own Operating system is considered a strategy to minimize its reliance on Google’s platform.
Tizen OS, which has been developed for use in a number of devices like smartphones, tablets, wearable gadgets, smart cameras and television units, has already been installed on some of Samsung’s smartwatches and fitness gadgets, as well as the Gear S & Gear Fit.
According to SamMobile, the new Z1 could have the model number SM-Z130H, and will feature a 4-inch display, a 3.2 megapixel back camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. The new smartphone is also rumored to be powered by a 1.2GHz “dual-core” Spreadtrum processor, packaged with a Mali-400 GPU and 512MB RAM.
Samsung is mostly focusing on worldwide market in all dimensions, we’ve already seen the company’s aggressive approach in delivering handsets and now the OS services in smartphones.
